When Sara reached out to talk about her and Shehzi’s elopement in Camden, Maine, I knew I wanted in. She explained that they had actually already eloped but their Maine celebration would be the first time their families came together. You should know by now, I’m HERE for that. Sara and Shehzi knew that they wanted to have some beautiful, simple portraits and some moments of the families mingling, so that’s exactly what we aimed for. I met them at The Norumbega Inn (you may remember it from Andrea and Chris’s elopement) and I captured the two of them as they prepared for their celebration together. (My partner and I got ready together on our wedding day, too, and it was my favorite.) Sara’s expressions, the love that she and Shehzi share, and THAT DRESS are some of my favorite things about celebrating this day with them. These two were clearly ahead of their time with the micro-wedding theme because in 2020 this is now A THING. Way to be setting me up for wins, guys. ;)
As I sit here today, thinking about the weddings that were all pushed to 2021 because of the current climate of the world, I am so grateful to have all of this love to look back on from 2019. I’m really looking forward to sharing ALL of the beautiful past weddings with you as we approach their first anniversaries. This post, with Sara and Shehzi lookin’ fabulous and celebrating their Maine Wedding with their favorite people, is the PERFECT way to kick-off the start of some BEAUTY that is to come. Someone pass me a glass of champagne because I’m using the rest of the summer to CELEBRATE love, even if it means I’m doing it alone, from my computer, and sharing the light-filled imagery with you through my journal.
