The M family met me at Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth for the second year in a row. Their two daughters are truly gems in the world and I adore being able to play with them in the sand during our sessions! As always, I take my families for a small walk to the best light & then continue to chase the light through our session. It’s a great idea to continue moving throughout the session so the kid don’t become bored or overextended in one place for too long. I want to focus on movement as much as possible, anyway! My favorites of the session always come at the end, when the family feels a little more comfortable in front of the camera and can let themselves get silly. It’s also the point when kids are feeling restless and need to wiggle a little more. I’m also not above bribing your children… I always tell my families that this is the one time that rules don’t have to be so stringent. I promise your kids won’t forget all your rules because you let them slide during your family session… and you’ll be much happier!!!
